Prophet Sulaiman (A.S) Story

Prophet Sulaiman (A.S) was the son of Prophet Dawood (A.S). When he inherited prophethood, he prayed to Allah to grant him a kingdom that no one would ever have.  Allah answered his prayer and blessed him with a lot of miraculous abilities, power and wisdom like no one ever had before or after him. He had the power to control the winds, Allah taught him the language of birds and animals and he had control over jinns.

Prophet Sulaiman (A.S)

One day Prophet Sulaiman (A.S) while inspecting his battalion of birds noticed that one bird called Hudhud was not present. Prophet (A.S) “Where is Hudhud? I will punish him severely if he remains absent without a good reason.”

Hudhud arrived with news that in the city of Yemen, called Saba he saw a woman named Bilqees who had power, throne, beauty and everything. He told that people of that land worship the sun instead of Allah. Prophet Sulaiman (A.S) instructed Hudhud to deliver a letter to Bilqees. Hudhud flew to Saba and upon reaching the palace, dropped the letter in the lap of Bilqees. She read the letter and said to her advisors, “I have received an Honorable letter from Sulaiman. It begins in the name of Allah the beneficent, the merciful and it reads: Accept Allah and worship only Him.

Bilqees sent valuable presents to Prophet Sulaiman just to see how he would react. He became very angry with seeing those gifts. He told the messenger to give this message to Bilqees that he would soon arrive with his army and conquer the land of Yemen.

When Bilqees received this message she decided to surrender and meet with Prophet Sulaiman herself. In the meantime, Prophet Sulaiman ordered a beautiful palace of glass to be built for Bilqees. He was brought the throne of Bilqees and he thanked Allah for his gratefulness. When Bilqees saw her throne she was awed by the power of Prophet Sulaiman. She accepted Prophet Sulaiman as a prophet of Allah and admitted that she was wrong in worshipping the sun instead of Allah. Prophet Sulaiman later married Bilqees. When she returned to her land she corrected her people over there and stopped them from worshipping anything but Allah.
