وَ لِلّه عَلَى النّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَیْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطاعَ اِلَ)یْهِ سَبیلاً.

 

It is on people for the sake of Allah to perform Hajj of his house, anyone who is able to undertake the journey to him. (2:196)

Importance of Hajj In Islam Revealed in Hadith

One of the most beautiful and greatest of all the gifts and rewards that Allah has promised to grant His people during Hajj is the utter forgiveness of all sins. This is perhaps the most a Muslim can pray and hope for during supplication. To have a rank in Jannah in Akhirah is what all Muslims seek amidst battling the world’s hardships and immense struggles.

According to a hadith,

اِنَّ الْحَجَّ المَبْرُورَ لا یَعْدِلُهُ شَىءٌ وَ لا جَزاءَلَهُ اِلاَّ الجَنَّة

“Nothing compares with the accepted Hajj and it has no reward other than heaven!”

 

And another,

وَ اَنَّ الْحاجَّ یَکُونُ کَیَوم وَلَدَتْهُ اُمُّه

A Person who performs Hajj purifies himself from sins like the day that he was born”.

As Muslims, it is our sacred duty to perform the obligation of Hajj amidst the other four pillars of Islam to avail their extraordinary benefits in this world, and of course, in the Hereafter as well.
